Contribute to our academic world as a Lecturer Learning Methods in permanent employment, in part time at our location in Berlin with a portion of remote working, starting on the 1st of March 2025.

You can expect

  • You cover specific subjects in the field of Learning Methods, including following courses: Foundations of Learning, Applied Learning Strategies, Academic Integrity and Writing for Business, Introduction to Academic Work and Collaborative Work.

  • You are responsible for all questions of our students around the lectures and prepare them this way for their professional career.

  • You confidently lead courses and tutorials on-site in English during the lecture period, and can complete work from home during off-time.

  • You design courses using high-quality learning material provided by us and flexibly conduct the preparation and follow-up remotely.

  • You create and grade assessments, and are responsible for the design and evaluation of teaching material (e.g., scripts, videos).

Your qualifications

  • You have a completed master’s degree or a doctorate in the field of Business or a related discipline with a focus on management.

  • You have practical work experience in the relevant field and subject, with knowledge of learning methods.

  • You may have already gained initial experience (e.g., as a tutor, teacher, lecturer, or research assistant) in academic teaching.

  • You have a strong interest in innovative, digital and modern education, and enjoy working with students.

  • You reside permanently in Germany.

  • You have English language skills at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

    Academia FAQs

    When do lectures take place in dual studies?
    Our dual study program includes modules that take place every two weeks and modules that are taught every week on specific days. Normally, our lectures for a module take place in blocks of 4-6 UE (UE = 45 minutes). Planning of the blocks is done in consultation with our lecturers. The weekly teaching hours are: Mon-Fri 8:00-20:00.
    What is the application process for a lecturer assignment?
    Once we review your application you will receive a further questionnaire by e-mail to be completed and returned.  We will promptly send you relevant information by e-mail about teaching at IU. We will also inform you about the process regarding a trial lecture.
    Is there a teacher forum for discussion & exchange?
    Absolutely! At every location we have a regular faculty conference. We also encourage dialogue via our collaboration tools and all our module leaders are available for questions at any time.
    Am I a permanent employee or freelancer in IU Academia?
    Our Professors are permanently employed and our Lecturers, Tutors, and Authors are all Freelancers.
